Gypsy Vanner
The Romani people of Great Britain have been maintaining the Gypsy Vanner with in their community. Voluntary migration was once a part of their history, But it was often compelled by external factors, such as being pushed from one country to another, over the centuries. The horse has always been a central to their culture, and by carefully breeding Shire, Friesians, Clydesdales and Dale Ponies, they have developed a beautiful, robust draft horse perfect for pulling their wagons (caravans).
Since its introduction to the United States in 1996, the Gypsy Vanner, a breed originally developed for wagon pulling, has demonstrated remarkable versatility as a riding horse, excelling in multiple disciplines. Its success in dressage, competitive driving, jumping, ranch work, and trail riding has been showcased through its participation in various Gypsy Vanner shows, where it competes in classes such as western pleasure, English, Hunter jack, halter and ranch riding.
The Gypsy Vanner breed celebrates 26 years in America this year. It’s stunning appearance and rich history have contributed to its growing popularity. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and love for this incredible breed with others. Schedule a tour to appreciate their beauty, versatility, and pleasant demeanor firsthand.
